Every year Aruba Hi Winds strives to help a good cause.
This year we want to put the spotlight on Micky’s Foundation
Micky’s Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 by the parents of Micky, a child who survived a car accident but suffered a severe brain injury.
They started the foundation because there was a lack of specialized therapy for children with disabilities on the island of Aruba.
The foundation’s main goal is to provide free and intensive therapy to around 30-45 children. They run therapy projects four times a year for three months each, ensuring consistent support. So far, they have helped 170 children with 15,000 hours of therapy provided by 57 therapists.
Micky’s Foundation relies on donations from the community and does not receive government funding. They believe in therapy at home, involving parents in the process to empower them with knowledge and exercises to help their child.
If you want to meet the people behind Micky’s Foundation, come see us at HiWinds on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 AM. We have activities specially for the children at the Aruba Hiwinds site. We’re super stoked to have them here.
So remember: Micky’s Foundation offers free specialized therapy to children with disabilities, aiming for continuity and involving parents in their child’s therapy journey. More info on their website or donate here. Thank you!
